Every once in a while, I run across a neat product or service that I love to share with my blog peeps! This is an umbrella, that is not only stylish and pretty, but it is environmentally green as well! It is created from sustainable resources and biodegrades in less than 5 years in a typical landfill. And, if that were not enough, it’s less than $40 for the large size!! I’m buying a couple for my gear bag!

Thank you to MrsTwink for turning me on to them!

As always I love getting packages! Here’s what came in today…

We also offer save the dates, thank you notes, and many other types of “paper” photo products. 😉

I love getting packages!! (Who doesn’t?) And this wonderful couple will be getting this new modern album soon!!

Back from one of the most amazing experiences!  I’ll post more about the workshop later but for now, I’m plowing through some of the things that came in while I was gone – including this fabulous artisan style album!  You can view the complete design here.

I thought the name embossing was especially slick – oh and the funny colors are just from the camera moire with that fabric cover; its NOT on the actual book!

This design is from Bridget and Tim’s September wedding. I thought the elegant event worked very well with the book they selected!  The cover is brown leather and the pages feature white mats with brown trim. Here are some favorite spreads:

The wedding ceremony was at the pretty Holy Comforter church and the reception was at the always beautiful Farmington Country Club! As always, the images have been selected by the couple.

You might wonder what a wedding photographer does when its cold and grey outside… We get to relive the prior year by working on albums for clients! While some of my clients do not get an album, most do and its great fun for me to see the images that couples pick as their “must haves” for their book. Many times they are quite different from my favs. Sometimes they do pick my favs. Its just an interesting bit of psychology! Since I dont have any weddings to show you right now, I’m going to share some of the album designs I’m working on.

Today’s album is from a wedding that I photographed down in Wise, Virginia. It was an especially sweet and soulful event;here are a couple of my favorite spreads – you can view the complete design at this link: album.

I love my man in brown! This is what he brought me today and what will be shipping out tomorrow (after a careful QC and repackaging)

First up we have a gorgeous canvas print of a certain little toddler! This was done with a gallery wrap which eliminates the need for a frame and creates a great graphic presentation on the wall!

Next up we have a beautiful album for Harper. She is the third of three sisters; they each have their own individual albums created within weeks of their birth – how fun! The pink glove leather matches her sisters’ books and each cover was personalized with a photographic image of their names in the house somewhere!

The pages feature a light and pretty silver gilding.

The white mats are enhanced with the pretty silver.

And the end sheets of the book are made from real silk!

and no pictures of the third and final shipment but in its own way, its the most exciting thing! Allegra’s Studio will be introducing projection proofing for all of our portrait clients starting this fall (as soon as the equipment is installed and tested!) This year, I’ve been to numerous educational seminars about running a successful portrait studio and the one thing that their clients all raved about was the ease and facility of ordering with projection proofing!

I will be right there to help answer any questions about cropping, zooming in, color vs black and white etc etc. My clients will be able to view their images at the ACTUAL size on the wall so it will be soo easy to figure out what the right print to get it! I can’t wait to get started! I’ll post here with pictures once it’s ready to go live!

Did I mention how much I love getting packages? Here’s another album from a 2004 wedding (please note that I accept album orders from your wedding at any time; the pricing will just be the current price if your contract terms have expired) I was so excited with the raspberry pink trim option that Jennifer and Dave selected – since pink is Jennifer’s favorite color and was a major part of her wedding, it only seemed right to bring it into the final album. In deference to Dave’s, well, male gender, we kept it only to the trim and I think the end result is quite beautiful! I hope they like it as much as I do!

one of the nice things about this style album is that we can use an actual invitation in the book

(don’t worry you digital album folks – we can use a scan or photograph of yours in your book!)

and close up of the raspberry!

I’m a kid; I admit it! I just adore getting packages! Almost as much as I enjoy wrapping them back up again and sending them back out to clients! I have a brand new album in the office ready for Van (11/04/06 wedding) and it looks gorgeous! She selected the new photo cover option for the Artisan style albums and I am beyond thrilled with how amazing it looks! well, a picture is worth a thousand words right? I dont want to ruin Van’s surprise so I’m only going to post a few.
