GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?

A. The CMS is open to any professional photographer who resides in the United States and Canada.

Q. WHO CAN ENTER?

A. Kids age birth-18 years who reside in the United States and Canada.

Q. WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE CMS?

A. Images can be taken and entered beginning January 1, 2011 through March 31, 2011 at 11:59 pm MDT. Voting will conclude on April 5, 2011 at 11:59 pm MDT. Finalists will move into the final judging round on April 6, 2011, and the winner will be announced May 1, 2011.

Q. HOW DOES A CHILD ENTER THE CMS?

A. The CMS is open to all children 0-18 years, residing in the United States and Canada. All entries MUST be submitted by a participating professional photographer. Families may not submit their own entries. NOTE: Each photographer sets their own session fees and pricing.

Q. CAN I SUBMIT AN IMAGE THAT WAS TAKEN PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 2011?

A. No, all images MUST be taken on or after January 1, 2011. Images taken prior to this time are not eligible.

Q. HOW MANY IMAGES MAY I ENTER?

A. The photographer registration fee includes unlimited entries, but only 1 image per child may be entered. The photographer selects the image to be entered. No image replacement will be done once the image has been submitted.

Q. HOW WILL THE WINNER BE DETERMINED?

A. This year the competition is divided into regions, which are determined by the state the photographer resides in. The Regional Finalists will be selected based solely on votes received. Votes can be placed in two ways. Votes may be purchased for $1 per vote with no limit to the number of votes that can be cast at one time. Each registered visitor to the gallery will be given 1 free vote and may cast their vote for any entry. This will allow entrants to accumulate both purchased votes and free votes. The top 5 children with the most purchased votes in each region when voting closes, will move on to the final judging round. Additionally, the top 5 children with the most free votes in each region when voting closes, will also move on to the final judging round. The final judging round will have the top 25 purchased vote entries and the top 25 free vote entries for a total of 50 finalists. Each image will be judged on the theme: “The Cutest Kid”. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges made up of photography and modeling industry experts.

Q. WHAT ARE THE REGIONS?

A. There are 5 regions. Region 1 is all of Canada. The other four Regions are based in the USA, based on geographic area and population. Virginia is part of Region % which also includes Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware and Washington DC

Q. WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

A. The Grand Prize winning child will win a travel package valued at $2500, a $2500 savings bond, and a $100 gift card to Target. Winner is responsible for all taxes, and fees. 2nd and 3rd place runners-up will win a$500 Savings Bond, and a $100 gift card to Target. NILMDTS reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value based on prize availability from our partner sponsors providing the prizes. If one of Allegra's Studio's clients' wins the grand prize, they will also receive a 20" Heirloom canvas of the winning image from Allegra!
